Competitive Team

Eastern National Academy runs a USA Gymnastics Competitive Team Program. ENA selects its team members from its own general population. These athletes are given the opportunity to take the sport of gymnastics a few steps further. ENA prides itself in its long history of competitive success, and in producing some of New Jersey's finest athletes. Our team gymnasts benefit greatly from the confidence, discipline, and teamwork that competitive gymnastics offers.

TIP Program

Before a gymnast is selected for ENA's competitive team, she goes through a progressive gymnastics program. Athletes are chosen between the ages of 5 to 6 to enter a TIP class: Talent Identification Program. This program focuses mainly on strength, flexibility, and perfecting the basic elements. From here, gymnasts may move up to the next level of the team program.

The Pre-Team Program

The Pre-Team division of ENA's program trains two days per week. This is a time not only for the children to test out the team, but also for the staff to determine if the children are ready. The Pre-Team program continues to stress basic strength and flexibility, while introducing dance and new, more difficult skills.

Levels 1 - 4

In the 1-4 program, gymnasts train three days per week. The children learn the competitive routines and sharpen the skills they will need to excel in competition.

Levels 5 through 10

Once the athletes reach Level 5, they train four days per week. As they progress through the Levels by achieving USA Gymnastics mandated qualification scores, they will eventually train 5 days. ENA's competitive gymnastics team competes throughout the state of New Jersey, as well as across the United States.

ENA's Pride

We take pride in our fine athletes. These children work hard to earn the recognition of the judges and rankings at the State and Regional Levels. Perhaps most important, however,is the responsibility and hard work that competitive gymnastics teaches them.
